Flexible Working

Flexible Working

Many employers will find that employees require flexible working in order to accommodate factors such as family, lengthy commutes and caring responsibilities. Employees might seek solutions such as flexi-time, home working, condensed hours and other flexible working arrangements.

Requests can be made by employees both formally and informally and employers must be alive to the risk of mishandling such requests, as doing so could result in unwanted employment tribunal litigation.

The Lamb Brooks Employment Department is experienced in drafting comprehensive flexible working policies, advising employers as to the correct method of dealing with flexible working requests, and providing guidance as to when such requests may be reasonably refused.
